about Cheryl Kaldahl's artwork
Cheryl Kaldahl's innovative process creates artwork that combines color, music, and neuroscience-based data. Scientists have researched how brainwaves and sound wave frequencies work together through music and color and their effects the human brain. Much of this research is currently being used in art therapy, psychology and even marketing. Based on this research, Cheryl has linked the colors used in a painting to music and emotion and has developed her unique approach to producing a new sensory experience.
Each painting is designed to evoke a specific mood or emotion, with a corresponding musical soundtrack. Cheryl's creative process involves selecting a mood or feeling and preparing her palette with pigments to match an emotion. She then prepares a separate surface as her manuscript for the corresponding soundtrack. After each brush stroke on the canvas, she makes a mark on the manuscript to ensure the musical notes correspond with the colors of the painting.
As an Artist Cheryl Kaldahl honors her father’s artistic lineage by combining his own painting techniques with her unique
musical flair creates a style that is magickal and exclusive. Leading to her art has been featured in numerous exhibitions, collaborations, featured artist events, juried shows, art fairs and globally along with its reproduction in the fashion industry.
