Cheryl Kaldahl accepts select commissions for individuals, collectors, businesses, and organizations seeking artwork created specifically for them.

A commission begins with conversation about the space, colors, atmosphere, scale, and what you hope the finished work will evoke. From there, Cheryl develops an original piece that reflects her distinctive approach to color, movement, texture, and expression while responding thoughtfully to your vision.

Original Art Commissions

Commissioned paintings offer an opportunity to create something deeply personal while retaining the character and artistic voice of an original KALDAHL work.

Commissions may be inspired by a particular color palette, space, mood, memory, landscape, piece of music, or simply a feeling you would like the artwork to bring into a room.

Rather than reproducing an existing painting, Cheryl uses these elements as a starting point for creating an entirely original work.

Art Inspired by Music

Where sound becomes color.

Music has long influenced Cheryl's visual work. For select commissions, a meaningful song, composition, musical memory, or other sonic inspiration can become the starting point for an original painting.

Rather than illustrating the music literally, Cheryl responds to its movement, emotion, rhythm, and atmosphere through color, gesture, texture, and form.

The result is an original work with a personal connection to the music that inspired it.

Decorative & Architectural Art

By Request

Cheryl also accepts select decorative and architectural art projects by request.

Drawing on years of experience with decorative painting and custom surface treatments, projects may include feature walls, murals, artistic finishes, architectural details, furniture or objects, and other site-specific applications.

Each project is considered individually based on the space, scope, timeline, and creative fit.

The Commission Process

1. Start the conversation
Share what you're considering, including approximate size, location, inspiration, and any ideas you already have.

2. Develop the direction
Cheryl will discuss scale, palette, artistic direction, timeline, and pricing with you before the project begins.

3. Creation
Once the commission is approved, Cheryl creates the work using the agreed direction while allowing room for the intuitive process that defines her work.

4. Completion
Final arrangements for pickup, delivery, installation, or shipping are determined according to the project.
